Currently in its 10th season, the One Room Challenge™ is a biannual design competition sponsored by Linda Weinstein of Calling It Home, a leading do-it-yourself blogger with more than 15,000 followers on Pinterest alone. Twice a year, in April and October, Calling It Home challenges 20 top design bloggers to transform a room in their home, or the home of a client, and document their makeover process over six weekly online posts.

Each Wednesday, the designers provide an online update on their progress, sharing photos of their work, professional advice and insights about sources with a loyal following of design enthusiasts through their own websites as well as social media such as Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. In the sixth week, the completed makeovers of all 20 rooms are unveiled across all of the participating websites in a much-anticipated "reveal."

The program also includes an active dialog of online linking between participating designers and enthusiasts, providing a lively conversation about the room makeovers and a source of ongoing encouragement, support and recognition. Additional bloggers also join the fun by conducting their own room redesigns during the competition, which they share through online posts.

For this latest season, the One Room Challenge™ has added its first-ever media partner — House Beautiful magazine. The popular publication will be live-blogging, "pinning" and Instagramming its favorite rooms, trends and details throughout the challenge. To make it easy to find information relating to the competition, One Room Challenge™ will be marking all its content with the hashtag #oneroomchallenge as well as the tag @housebeautiful.

"Partnering with this iconic and spectacular magazine, site and brand is a thrilling opportunity," said Weinstein in a statement on her website ( announcing the collaboration. "Their refined aesthetic is classic while also modern and fresh."
