DIY Install Tips: put the WHOLE thing together prior cutting any wires or attempting to wire it. I made the silly mistake of not threading the wires through all pieces prior to wiring it. I had to take it down and reinstall due to my own carelessness. The instructions are mostly a picture of what connects to what. After surviving the install of this chandelier, I'm very pleased. We have 9ft ceilings and wanted a chandelier for our mudroom. It comes with a very long chain and also a 'stick' making it easy to choose your length and gave us the ability to hang this at just the right length. This is the 'rubbed bronze' style that has the flecks of copper that I believe are painted on, but isn't noticeable once hung.. The bulb sockets come with two different covers for your preference: bronze to match the chandelier or white to make them look like candle sticks (we chose the bronze per our pictures). Like others mentioned, we didn't attach the weird crystal ball. It looks beautiful and the pieces seem to be made of a metal, so it should last.
