What's Happening in Dallas: Inside Crystorama's First Dallas Design Week
Three events, one showroom, and a week built around a single idea, that light is something you feel before you ever notice the fixture.
This September we're bringing a full program to Dallas Design Week — a panel with Sherwin-Williams on color and neuroaesthetics, a sponsored booth at the design industry's national leadership conference, and a closing night built entirely around conversation.
It happens during a genuinely unusual week on campus. Dallas Design Week runs September 15–17, and it overlaps with ArchLIGHT Summit, the DALI Alliance's North America Summit, and — for the first time — GATHER: Catalyst, the national leadership conference of the American Society of Interior Designers. Residential designers, lighting specifiers, architects, and hospitality teams are all in the same buildings at the same time. That doesn't happen often.
So we built our week for it. Here's where to find us.
Wednesday morning: Change Your Light, Change Your Life
The Designer's Guide to Color, Mood, and the Spaces That Shape Us is the panel we've wanted to host for a while. It starts from a question worth sitting with: what if the spaces you design aren't neutral, but actively shaping how people feel, function, heal, and connect?
Clients are asking for rooms that feel intentional and restorative, not just beautiful. This conversation gives designers the language, the science, and the practical tools to answer that — grounded in real applications, and followable without a science degree. Panelists work through color psychology, lighting temperature, biophilic design, and human-centered principles across residential, hospitality, and commercial projects.
Come early for the tour
Doors open at 10 a.m. for a meet & greet with the panelists, with light bites and mimosas. At 10:30, Nina Lichtenstein leads a guided tour of our biophilic-inspired collections — nature-derived forms, organic silhouettes, and the kind of detail that's easier to understand with the fixture in front of you than in a spec sheet.
Nina is one of the first designers globally certified in Science in Design, and takes a research-informed, salutogenic approach to spaces that support nervous system regulation and emotional balance. Worth arriving for.
Then head upstairs: Dine + Design with Sherwin-Williams
The panel ends and the conversation keeps going — one floor up, in the Samsung Experience Center at TM 4604. Dine + Design is Dallas Design Week's centerpiece CEU luncheon, presented by Dallas Market Center, Sherwin-Williams, Samsung, and Modern Luxury Interiors, and led by the Sherwin-Williams Trendsight Team ®. It's a first look at the 2027 Colormix ® forecast — the palette that will shape color conversations across residential, hospitality, and commercial work for the year ahead.
Pairing the two back-to-back was intentional. One session gives you the why behind color and light; the next gives you the what you'll be specifying next year. RSVP is required and seating is limited, so reserve early.
Thursday and Friday: Illuminated Connections at GATHER: Catalyst
GATHER: Catalyst — the American Society of Interior Designers' national leadership conference — lands at Dallas Market Center for the first time this year. We're there as a brand partner and sponsor, with a booth in the Catalyst Design Expo on the 11th floor.

Illuminated Connections is less a booth than a retreat — a warm, elevated place to pause mid-conference. Antonio DeLoatch, Crystorama TasteMaker and moderator of Wednesday's panel, is leading the creative direction, shaping a space around materiality, quiet luxury, and illumination. It brings together our decorative lighting, Antonio's SunThreads fabric collection, and furnishings from Made Goods , MC Studio and Unique Loom — layered texture, sculptural form, and light working as one environment.
The idea underneath it is the collective. Complementary brands and creative perspectives in one room, which is what GATHER is about in the first place. Come sit down, have a coffee, and talk to us about our trade program or what a custom lighting project actually looks like from the inside.
Friday evening: Illuminating Connections with Black Interior Designers, Inc.
Illuminating Connections, hosted with Black Interior Designers, Inc., trades the panel format for six themed roundtables you move between freely. Interior designers, builders, electricians, and industry tastemakers, each paired to share real-world insight on everything from lighting scale to brand partnerships. Drinks, light bites, music. Arrive when you can, sit where you want, leave with the answer to the question you've been carrying around for six months.

What we're most excited about isn't on the schedule. It's the part we can't plan: the designer who wanders in during the tour and asks a question nobody's asked us before, the conversation at Booth 509 that turns into a project six months from now, the person at the Friday mixer who finally gets the answer they've been chasing. That's the reason to build a week like this in the first place.
We're especially glad GATHER: Catalyst is here. ASID members are coming to Dallas from across the country, many of whom we've never met in person, and having the national leadership conference on the same campus as Dallas Design Week means the room is wider than it's ever been — residential designers next to hospitality teams next to specifiers and architects. We'd like to meet as many of you as we can.
